The Deflate Wing

You are passionate about supfoil downwind, but you don't want to be constrained by car shuttles? The Deflate Wing is made for you!

The Deflate Wing has been specially designed for upwind/downwind practice. It's also ideal for beginners in SUP foiling who may need to inflate it if they can't take off. It is made of 100% Dyneema® to be as lightweight as possible when folded in the backpack. It also has smaller leading edge and central strut sections to save weight. With a weight of 1,35 kg for a 3m size, it completely disappears during the descent. You can focus 100% on your downwind and send turns endlessly !

Additionally, the Deflate Wing serves as a safety device that can be re-inflated in case of any issues, allowing you to return to shore smoothly. It's a game-changer for downwind riding !

The Deflate Wing remains a normal wing with which you can wingfoil in all conditions. With its ultra-lightweight, it's remarkably easy to handle and it excels in freeflying in the waves.

The Deflate Wing now comes only in Black version. White version is no longer available.

Upwing / Downwind

No need to carry your paddle in your backpack or improvise paddle attachment systems on handles; the Deflate Wing comes equipped with a quick paddle attachment system. You place the paddle, fasten the four straps, and voila ! The job is done.

The quick paddle attachment system not only makes it easier to set up the paddle but also simplifies its removal when you're sitting on the board out at sea.

It's also a significant advantage when storing the wing in the Deflate bag. There are no handles to obstruct the wing's storage and add weight to the backpack.

The ultra-light weights of 1.15 kg for the 2.5 m, 1.35 kg for the 3 m and 1.5 kg for the 3.5 m make it a game changer for downwinds. The backpack with the wing is completely forgotten and this greatly facilitates the take-off and pumping phases during supfoil downwind runs. The fun during the descent is multiplied !

Designed for going upwind.

Its shape, with little dihedral and a flatter profile, makes it an excellent wing for going upwind. It was designed for this purpose and is very stable and comfortable during upwind phases.

The perfectly distributed tensions make it a very stable wing even in strong winds. The attachments for a harness line are positioned to relieve the arms during long upwind runs. They are located on the front part of the central strut, allowing to lock in the wing and take a break. Now, all that's left is to focus on the board's trim, throw in a few tacks, and before you even realize it, it's already time for the descent !

A safety tool for downwinding !

The Deflate Wing can be easily re-inflated with a mini pump. This is a game changer in the practice of downwind SUP foiling where runs are often far from the coast, and where it can sometimes be difficult to take off and quickly return to shore.

Whether you're a beginner or experienced, having a Deflate Wing with a mini pump allows you to boost your confidence and safely explore new runs, pushing your limits by trying smaller foils without putting yourself in danger.

It's also a significant safety advantage. A moment of fatigue during a downwind session in the middle of the ocean can make the return to shore extremely long and complicated. Inflated in 5 minutes on the water, the Deflate Wing allows you to directly reach the coast with the wind, saving precious minutes - or even hours - of energy.

100% Dyneema® and Made in France.

The Deflate Wing is entirely designed and manufactured in France. Only the handles are made in Asia. The cutting, assembly, and sewing of fabrics, the manufacturing of bladders, and the production of paddle attachment pieces are all done in France.

In a sustainability initiative for our products, we have chosen to use a highly noble material for our wings: Dyneema®. The wing is stiffer but, more importantly, more resistant. The overall profile of the wing holds up over time, ensuring the wing's performance lasts.

A Dyneema® repair kit is also provided with the wing, in order to continue winging even if the foil passes through the canopy.

An ultra-light wing, even when wet.

One of the main advantages of the Deflate Wing is its 100% Dyneema® material. In addition to being extremely lightweight and durable, Dyneema is completely waterproof. Unlike traditional spinnaker and dacron materials that absorb water and become heavier, the Dyneema used in the Deflate Wing has a surface film that allows water to bead off. It is completely hydrophobic.

This is a significant advantage for SUP foiling when deflating the wing at sea to pack it into a backpack. The onboard weight is further reduced!

Also suitable for wing freeride and wave riding.

The Deflate Wing is also an excellent wing for winging, both for freeride and wave riding. With its weight of 1,2 kg for a 3m size, it's virtually unnoticeable while freeflying in the waves.

It features the standard Zephyr Wing inserts, allowing you to attach rigid, semi-rigid, or flexible handles.

Its lightness also makes it an excellent sail for beginners and lighter riders. Its profile makes it very forgiving, making it ideal for experiencing your first takeoffs and also for conserving energy, allowing for longer rides without getting tired.

What size to choose?

The range has been designed as follows:

  • The 2.5m is a super strong wind wing. It can handle upwind rides up to 35 knots without any problems. For a rider weighing 70 kg or less, it's possible to go out with the 2.5m in winds as low as 15 knots, considering a voluminous downwind board with a large foil (> 1300 cm2).

  • The 3m is the all-around wing; it can be held up in very strong winds and has a better low-end range than the 2.5m. It is suitable for riders weighing more than 70 kg.

  • The 3.5m is the powerful wing of the range. It has the low-end range of a 4m, takes off very early, and allows deflat downwind runs in 10 knots. It's also the wing suitable for heavier riders (> 85 kg) who can handle it even in strong winds.

Note that beyond 35 knots, the practice of deflate downwind runs becomes uncomfortable with a downwind board. The wind catch of long downwind SUP foil boards makes upwind riding difficult.

Les calanques

Undyed fabrics.

The fabrics on our wings are kept as they left the factory and are therefore not painted or dyed. All types of Dyneema® used retain their original appearance, highlighting their natural color.

The same eco-friendly approach is used for the ZL02 Aramid Black, where no logo is painted.

This strategic choice is in line with our values and allows us to drastically reduce the consumption of water, energy and CO2 emissions.

A sustainable wing.

At Zephyr Wing, we are aware of the environmental impact that our sport and our passion have. This is why we manufacture our sails in France as close as possible to the user and we source as much as possible with materials manufactured in Europe. The CO2 footprint of our wings is thus significantly lower compared to another wing on the market.

We are proud to be the only brand to master the wing manufacturing in France.

Recycled plastic parts.

All 3D printed parts are manufactured in France by specialized French companies.

These pieces use 100% post-industrial recycled materials incorporated. This initiative not only helps reduce plastic waste, but also supports the circular economy by reusing existing materials.

fiber at heart.jpg

Bio-based Dyneema®.

Dyneema® is bio-based, which means that part of its composition comes from natural material. By recovering waste from the wood and pulp industries, these bio-based raw materials are mixed with fossil raw materials in the manufacturing process to produce ethylene.

Bio-based Dyneema® has the lowest carbon footprint per unit of strength compared to other synthetic fibers.
